It is important to be informed and current on developments, issues and events impacting on you as an "Occasional Teacher" in the Ottawa Catholic School Board and as a member of the OECTA Ottawa Unit, the local unit of your professional association.

• Visit our provincial OECTA website at www.oecta.on.ca.
  
• Updated notices will be posted in each school staff room, courtesy of the school’s OECTA representative.
  
• Send your e-mail address to your president at occasional@oectaottawa.ca for personal response.
  
• Call the Unit Office (613-723-0959) and the Unit President will respond asap.

Concerning OTs on LTO contracts: 

• You are still an Occasional Teacher.
• Contact the OECTA OTBU office with OT questions, problems, etc.
• Professional Development funds are available for LTOs.
• Communicate by email or call 613-723-0959.

Concerning all OTs:

• Sabrina’s Law &Offence Declaration must be completed online before your SEMs account is activated (note: successful completion will be recorded with the Board.  Keep certificate for your files.)
• 2010-2011 ID funding grants are now available.
• PD Workshops are being planned.  Watch for details-dates, registration timelines will be posted on OECTA Ottawa site.
